Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is a legally required contract under GDPR Art. 28 between a data controller (you) and a data processor (docs101). It defines how personal data is handled, what security measures are in place, and what rights and obligations each party has.

Your DPA is already in place

By creating your docs101 account, you agreed to the DPA as part of the Terms of Service. You can read the full text at docs101.com/dpa. The PDF download below is a convenience feature for your compliance records.

Prerequisites: Complete Your Company Details

Before the DPA download becomes available, the following fields must be filled in under Business Settings > Details:

  • Company Name — your registered name including legal form (e.g. "Acme GmbH", "Example Ltd.")
  • Street
  • Postal Code
  • City
  • Country
  • Managing Director / Authorized Representative
  • Email
Company Name location

The Company Name field is found under Registration Details in Business Settings. This must be your official registered company name including legal form — it appears on the DPA as the contracting party.

How to Download the DPA

  1. Navigate to Settings > Legal
  2. If any required fields are missing, a warning is shown — click the link to complete your company details first
  3. Click Generate & Download DPA
  4. A personalized PDF with your company details and today's date is generated and downloaded
After downloading
  • Store the DPA with your business records
  • You can re-generate and download the DPA at any time — it always uses your current company data
  • If you update your company details, simply generate a new PDF

DPA Updates

When docs101 updates the DPA (e.g. new sub-processors, legal changes), you will be notified by email 30 days in advance. The updated version will be available on docs101.com/dpa and in your Settings.
