Audit Log

The Audit Log gives you a complete, read-only record of all important actions in your docs101 account. Every time a user logs in, an invoice is created, a customer is updated, company settings change, or a team member is invited or removed, it is recorded here.

What Gets Logged

Template changes, payment term changes, bank account changes, numbering changes, and draft creation are not recorded in the Audit Log.

Where to Find It

  1. Navigate to Settings in the main navigation
  2. Click the Audit Log tab (last tab)

All company members can view the Audit Log regardless of their role. It is read-only — entries cannot be edited or deleted.

Reading an Entry

Each entry in the Audit Log shows three columns:

UserAvatar with initials and the name of the person who performed the action. System-triggered actions show [SYS] System.
ActionA colored badge (e.g., CREATED, SENT, PAID) followed by the affected object and optional context.
DateTimestamp in your browser's timezone, formatted as DD.MM.YYYY, HH:mm.

Filtering the Log

Three client-side filters are available. All filters are combined with AND logic.

Category Filter

A multi-select dropdown lets you show or hide entries by category:

  • All (default) — Shows everything
  • Invoices — Only invoice-related actions
  • Customers — Only customer-related actions
  • Settings — Only company settings changes
  • Users — Only team member actions

Date Range

Use the From and To date fields to narrow entries to a specific time period.

User Filter

Select a specific user from the dropdown to see only their actions. The dropdown is populated dynamically from the users who appear in the log.

Pagination

The Audit Log displays 20 entries per page, sorted by date (newest first). Use the pagination controls at the bottom to navigate through older entries.

Data Retention

Audit log entries are automatically deleted after 30 days. This cleanup runs daily, so you always have a rolling 30-day window of activity.

Fresh Start

The Audit Log only records actions that happen after the feature is enabled. Existing historical data is not backfilled — the log starts empty and fills up naturally as you use docs101.
